Traditional ways of thinking about the classroom have changed.

For many, the home will also be the classroom for the foreseeable future.

According to one national poll, 30% of parents say they are very likely to choose schooling at home for the 2020-2021 school year. This number now seems to be trending even higher as we progress into a school year where remote learning is the ONLY option in many areas.

In discussions with a teacher who lives in my neighborhood, parents have banded together and are creating learning pods of children. They rotate remote teaching oversight between homes that have designated learning areas.

An excerpt from a recent Forbes article states: “The advent of online learning programs and other digital tools, as well as expanding resources for homeschooling families, make access to a high-quality K-12 education outside of school more feasible than ever before. Parents are put back in charge of their children’s education, while taking advantage of an assortment of curriculum options and learning pathways.” Not necessarily a bad thing!
